Course Information: This is a 20-hour course on the theory of operation, and applications of voltage regulators.
Class Prerequisites: Students should have a basic understanding of 3Ø electrical theory, electrical motors, generators and VAR flow.

Day One - 8 Hours Day Two - 8 Hours Day Three - 4 Hours
  • Why voltage regulators are needed.

  • History of voltage regulators.

  • Basic theory of what a voltage regulator does.

  • Use of voltage regulator with relays.

  • Operation of a WTA voltage regulator.

  • How to put a voltage regulator in and out of service.

  • Field trip to a plant.

  • Instructional hands-on operation of a voltage regulator.
